1. System Requirements: You need an Apple Macintosh Quadra or PowerMac¬ running System 7.5.1 or higher, Quicktime 2.5¬ (included), 12 MB of application RAM, and a 2x or faster CD-ROM drive (4x or faster is strongly recommended).
2. Insert the CD-ROM into your drive.
3. If you are sure that you already have Quicktime¬ 2.5 or greater installed, proceed to the next step. Double-click on the icon named Quicktime¬Installer and follow the installer instructions.
4. Double-click on the icon named UVM Telemedicine Interactive.
Getting Around
This CD-ROM presentation uses a "slide out" navigation panel for all portions of the presentation except the Main Menu. Click on the green arrow on the left side of the screen at any time during the presentations and the Navigation Panel will allow you to access any portion of the CD-ROM, or quit. If you do not wish to jump to another portion of the CD-ROM, click on the orange arrow to close the Navigation Panel and your current scene resumes.
"How to Build a Telemedicine Program" Playback
The audio-visual control panel allows you to control audio playback and visuals independently. When a speaker's presentation begins, the audio cues the speaker's visuals automatically. You can pause audio by clicking on the pause button on the far left of the a/v panel. Clicking on play resumes the presentation. Dragging the knob on the audio timeline allows you to scan through the lecture. To adjust volume, click on the larger volume circles (louder) or smaller circles (quieter). If you wish to jump to different portions of the presentation by visual cues, click on the green arrows of the visual controls, and the audio will "jump" to each visual slide. If you wish to look at visuals independently of the audio, click on the Manual button. In manual mode, you can click on the visual control arrows and view different visuals while the audio continues. To return, click on Automatic, and the visuals "jump" to the current position of the audio. This allows you to scan different pages of the presenter's visuals.
For Best Results
Turn off all unneccessary extensions (excluding those mentioned above), and restart.
Make sure that file sharing is turned off, you are logged off of any networks, and no other applications are running.
Open the ╥monitors╙ control panel and set your monitor to 640 x 480 thousands or 256 colors.
Open the ╥sound╙ control panel and set the sound output to 44,100kHz, and 16 bit stereo. Turn the volume all the way up.
You can quit the presentation at any time by typing Command-Q, or clicking on Exit in the main menu.
